What we check

We query EmailRep for a reputation summary. Off by default, and never part of your score.

Why it matters

Sending reputation decides whether your mail reaches the inbox or the spam folder, and it is largely invisible from your side until something goes wrong.

Reputation is also cumulative and slow to change in both directions. A month of sending to a purchased list is undone over months, not days, which is why the fixes here are habits rather than settings.

How to fix it

  1. 1

Get SPF, DKIM and DMARC right first — they are most of what reputation is built on.

  2. 2

Keep your lists clean; repeated sends to dead addresses cost more than they look like they should.

  3. 3

Warm up new sending domains and new volumes gradually; a sudden change in pattern is treated with more suspicion than a steady one.

  4. 4

Watch bounces and complaints as leading indicators — both move before reputation does.

Common questions

Why is this off by default?
The free quota is small, and the signal is soft enough that it should not gate anyone's grade.
Is this the same as a blocklist?
No. It is an aggregate opinion, not a yes-or-no listing.
How do I improve it?
Authenticate properly, send mail people asked for, and remove addresses that bounce.
